A WOMAN, who tested positive and recovered from Covid-19, died after she fell from the eighth floor of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, last night.

In the 9.15pm incident, the 63-year-old local was suspected to have jumped out a window before hospital personnel realised what had happened and contacted the police.

According to the New Straits Times, Kota Kinabalu police chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majinji said police were informed of the incident about 9.30pm.

He said initial investigations showed that the victim was admitted to the hospital on Oct 13 after she was confirmed Covid-19 positive.

After receiving treatment, the woman soon recovered and was scheduled to be discharged from the hospital today.

“Her body is now at the hospital forensics department pending further investigations.”

For now, Habibi said the case has been classified as sudden death.
