A MOTHER couldn’t wait to reach the hospital and delivered at a roadblock in Kota Samarahan last night with the help of two policewomen.
Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said they were on their way, rushing to the Sarawak General Hospital, from Kampung Semera Ulu, which was about an hour’s drive away.
However, the woman couldn’t wait and was about to give birth when they arrived at a traffic light near the Kuching – Samarahan Expressway.
“The husband decided to make a u-turn and drive against traffic to seek help from the policewomen manning a roadblock there.”
The woman delivered her baby at midnight. The policewomen also ensured the baby started to cry before the mother and newborn were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
