SABAH’S Bugaya assemblywoman Manis Muka Mohd Darah has passed away at the age of 65.

The Warisan representative from Semporna was reportedly admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Gleneagles hospital but succumbed to her illness earlier today.

She is believed to have suffered from kidney problems.

She is yet to be officially sworn in after retaining the state seat in the Sept 26 Sabah election.

It was reported that she was in self-quarantine after the polls.

Manis Muka, who headed the Warisan women’s wing in Semporna, won the Bugaya seat with a 6,005-vote majority, securing a total of 8,557 votes.

Warisan permanent chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong died last month, triggering the Batu Sapi by-election, which will be held on December 5.

Meanwhile, Gerik MP Hasbullah Osman died yesterday due to a heart attack.

The Perak MP from Umno, retained the seat in 2018 by winning comfortably against Pas and Bersatu candidates.
