A THREE-DAY funeral in Ulu Sebakong, Mukah from May 19 sparked Sarawak’s newest Covid-19 cluster – the Ulu Sebakong Cluster.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), a total 50 new infections originated from the cluster, while seven are still waiting test results.
The 50 positive cases have been referred to the Sibu Hospital and admitted to the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Mukah.
Five clusters were meanwhile, declared as ended in the state, namely, the Ulu Balingian Cluster in Selangau; Sungai Rian Cluster in Meradong, Sungai Lemayong Cluster in Meradong and Sungai Senibung Cluster in Julau.
“In total, there are still 76 active clusters in the state, 28 red-zones, four orange and eight yellow zones,” said SDMC.
Meanwhile, there were four new Covid-19 deaths and 600 new cases reported in Sarawak today.
The total deaths to date are 322 and 51,171 cases.
The 319th death was a 62-year-old man, while the others involved a 72 and 61-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman.
