SARAWAK United People’s Party (SUPP) will contest all its 20 traditional seats in the coming 12th state election (PRN), including those held by opposition party, Parti Sarawak Bersatu.
Its secretary-general, Datuk Sebastian Ting said the party had since resolved to field their candidates in the 20 seats, including Opas, Mambong, Engkili, Dudong and Bawang Assan.
He said the party had all these years continued to go to the ground and worked with the people to bring economic progress and development to their constituencies, especially in the rural areas.
“We are happy and grateful with the response and support from the communities and other Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties,” he said in a statement.
SUPP won seven seats in the last state election which was held in May 2016.
These are Batu Kawah, Batu Kitang, Simanggung, Meradong, Repok, Piasau and Senadin.
Other traditional SUPP seats include Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Bukit Assek, Pelawan, Tanjung Batu and Pujut.
