SIBU district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit is receiving treatment at the Sibu Hospital after his car crashed into a tree in Jalan Lanang yesterday. He is in stable condition.

He sustained cracks to his left ribs and light injuries on his right leg and head during the 8.30pm incident, Utusan Borneo reported.

District deputy police chief, Supt Collin Babat said Stanley was alone in the car at the time of the incident.

“He lost control of the vehicle and his car crashed into a tree on the left shoulder of the road,” Collin said, adding that the passers-by then came to Stanley’s assistance.

The Civil Defence personnel then rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call and sent Jonathan to the hospital.

“He is in stable condition and is receiving treatment at the Sibu Hospital,” Colin added.
