Sibu man shot over noise dispute

A MAN was shot in the face with a shotgun after hitting a mentally unsound man at Paradom in Sibu.

In the 4.30pm incident on Sunday, the victim was fishing at a cafe when he got agitated by loud noises created by the man.

Feeling annoyed, he took a wood and hit the man until the latter escaped from the scene, according to The Star.

However, he later returned with five other men in three vehicles.

Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said one of the suspects fired a shotgun at the victim, hitting him in the face with pellets.

The police have identified the suspects and are tracking them down.

Meanwhile, photos of the 40-year-old victim with his face riddled with pellets have gone viral on social media.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 for attempted murder.
