SARAWAK is set to received over a million Covid-19 vaccines every month from June – August in an effort to hit the targeted 70 per cent vaccination rate by end of August.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the doses will be received in June, July and August and were scheduled by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).
The doses would be from Pfizer and Sinovac, said the Local Government and Housing Minister.
He said the state health department had also met with private hospitals in Sarawak to prepare to administer vaccinations from May 25.
In a Facebook post, Dr Sim alsi said as of May 20, 1,147,403 eligible Sarawakians registered for vaccination via MySejahtera while another one million have not registered.
As of May 19, he said 133,421 Sarawakians had taken the first vaccination dose. Vaccines don’t wait for people. Let’s fight Covid-19 together by registering for vaccination, and protect ourselves and everyone.”
