Sarawak reports 21 new Covid-19 cases, 10 linked to Green Hill cluster

THE number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has spiked up by 21 cases today, with 10 of them linked to the Green Hill Cluster.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said in a statement that 12 cases were recorded in the Kuching district while Miri, Lawas and Lundu districts each recorded three cases.

Of the 12 cases in Kuching, eight are linked to the Green Hill cluster, three to the Wisma Saberkas cluster while the other is an import case involving a person with travel history to Selangor.

In Miri, two of the cases are linked to the Green Hill cluster while the other is a close contact to a previously reported case.

In Lawas, a family of three, including a baby, were tested positive in Limbang upon returning from Sabah.

In Lundu, three local transmissions were detected through active case detection done in Kg Telok Melano. A total of four cases have been detected in that area.

On the Green Hill cluster, the SDMC said six cases were close contacts to a positive case reported on Oct 31.  All of them were screened at a government health clinic on Nov 1 and were confirmed to be positive on Nov 2.

Another two of them reported having fever and cough on Oct 31 and Nov 1 while the two remaining cases were asymptomatic.

To date, Sarawak has reported a total of 927 Covid-19 cases, including 19 deaths.
