Sarawak records 185 new Covid-19 cases, zero deaths

SARAWAK today recorded 185 new Covid-19 cases, of which 101 were from Sibu, with the cumulative cases in the state now at 5,457 cases.

The bulk of the new cases continue to come from the Pasai cluster, which recorded 77 new cases, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in a statement.

There are now 2,288 positive cases linked to the cluster, which is traced to a funeral service in a longhouse in Pasai, Sibu.

No new deaths were reported, while 157 patients were discharged today, bringing the total to 3,602 recovered patients.

The Saratok district has been classified as a Covid-19 yellow zone, joining 15 other districts in the state. There are now only eight districts which are still classified as “green”, or coronavirus-free districts, down from nine yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry today reported 3,847 new Covid-19 cases nationwide, and 12 deaths.

Of the total, 1,481 came from Selangor, while Kuala Lumpur had 402 new cases.

The total number of positive cases now stand at 238,721.
