DEPUTY Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan is currently undergoing a 14-day self-quarantine at home.

This comes after one of his food supply chain subcommittee member from Samarahan, tested positive for Covid-19.

“Although I did not have any direct or close contact with the patient, I decided to self-quarantine. We should never take this lightly,” he was quoted saying by Gago Daily.

Awang Tengah, who is also the food supply chain subcommittee chairman, is currently feeling “alright” at home, according to his personal assistant.

The state health department has called on other committee members, department heads and reporters who attended a meeting on the food supply chain meeting to come forward for screening.

It is learnt that the meeting was held on Friday at Wisma Bapa in Petra Jaya.
