Sabah teacher dies from Covid-19

A TEACHER in Sabah has died from Covid-19, with schools in the state expected to close for two weeks.

Sabah Education Department director Dr Mistrine Radin confirmed the teacher’s death at the Semporna Hospital today, The Star reported.

Dr Mistrine said more details would be announced later.

The news portal also reported that following this, all schools in Sabah will be closed for two weeks, quoting a high-ranking Education Ministry official.

The official also said that the ministry was also monitoring two schools in Terengganu.

She said all 50 schools in the Semporna district had been closed due to an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) taking effect until Oct 12.

Semporna is among the four red zone districts under enhanced MCO at present.
