Sabah continues to top new Covid-19 cases; Sarawak has zero

SABAH reported 23 of the 31 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours from noon today, 17 of which are from the Benteng LD cluster in Sabah, as the national tally climbs to 9,946 cases. Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded zero new cases for the fifth straight day.

The Benteng LD cluster now has 420 positive cases, including the 17 new ones reported today, comprising eight foreigners and nine locals. Sabah also recorded six new cases from other parts of the state.

Other local transmission cases today were from the Bunga cluster in Negri Sembilan (four cases) and the Sungai cluster in Kedah (one case), Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement today.

There were also three import cases while no new deaths were reported.

Dr Noor Hisham also announced that seven patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide today, with the total now at 9,203 or a recovery rate of 92.5 per cent.
