SARAWAK United People’s Party (SUPP) Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot is rumoured to have joined PKR in the latest political saga in the country.
PKR in a Facebook post, welcomed the seven-term MP to be part of their reformation agenda
PKR Julau MP Larry Sng who shared the post, also welcomed the senior politician to the party.
Riot, however, couldn’t be reached for comment.
With the departure of Riot, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is now left with 17 MPs.
In fact, rumours about the former human resources minister intending to join PKR, surfaced after he retained his seat in the last general election.
It was reported that he expressed disappointment over the election results, saying the defeat of his party colleagues showed that “SUPP has lost the support of the people”.
He was also uneasy about being the sole MP from SUPP.
