THE Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Covid-19 vaccination centre inoculated 5,584 individuals yesterday, bringing to 37,758 people who had received the vaccines there since it opened 10 days ago.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad congratulated the centre run by the public university in her Facebook profile today.
“Congratulations to the Unimas community led by (Vice-Chancellor) Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi on the achievement.
“Despite being faced with challenges, the commitment and co-operation by the volunteers and the Sarawak government, the National Recovery Plan will be expedited,” she wrote.
Unimas in its Facebook page said the record was achieved when the 5,584th person was registered at 7.30pm.
The PPV achieved 5,000 dose mark on June 18.
Some 600 staff including 150 medical personnel, and 450 volunteers including students, are involved at the PPV.
