PARTI Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is prepared to work with any like-minded persons or parties to bring about change and greater autonomy to the state for the benefit of Sarawakians.
“We refer to the statement by PKR Chief YB Larry Sng, concerning a possible agreement between PSB and DAP on seats to contest in the forthcoming state election to avoid three-corner fights.
“If there is any other party willing to struggle alongside PSB with integrity and sincerity, our party is prepared to work with them for the greater good,” said the local based party in a statement today.
PSB was formed by the former state Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, after leaving the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) due to an internal leadership crisis.
The party has also accepted Ba Kelalan assemblyman Baru Bian and Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How after the duo quit PKR.
Yesterday, Sng stressed that PKR is against its allies conceding seats to PSB as the latter is not part of Sarawak Pakatan Harapan (PH).
He warned that PKR would contest in seats that its allies – DAP and Amanah – had given up to PSB.
Sng said it had come to his attention that their allies had privately conceded five to six seats to PSB, including the Bawang Assan seat.
“If this is true, PKR is ready to contest in Bawang Assan if DAP abandons its commitment to the people in that area. This rule applies to all state seats in Sarawak.
“Unless PSB is part of the coalition and abides by the rules of the coalition, we shall not, under any circumstances, accord them the same level of cooperation as our allies.”
