PARTI Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) youth chief, Datuk Snowdan Lawan said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will emerge stronger with consolidated coalition efforts.

He said they had begun their preparations almost immediately after the last state election ended and never rested on their laurels.

“We are every ready and always assume we are facing an election everyday and get out machinery on alert,” he said in a statement.

He said that while it is well known that the state election is due by June 2021, it is anyone’s guess when it will be held.

Snowdan was responding to reports on PRS’s preparations to limit the opposition’s influence in constituencies it plans to contest after Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg instructed assemblymen in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) to go to the ground in preparation for the coming state election.

He also said PRS will continue to honour their pledges to the rakyat and keep with their Minor Rural Project (MRP) and Rural Transformation Programe (RTP) initiatives to complement the ongoing 12th Malaysia Plan to develop the state in all aspects.

He said PRS had aligned its efforts towards being rural centric as envisaged by the Chief Minister in the state’s budget last year.

He said development was a continuous process and they were on the ground visiting the people and monitoring projects.

Snowdan said the GPS coalition was picking up efforts again to make up for time lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also said GPS’s statewide roadshows and rallies had been well received.

He added the coalition’s symbol and emblem were known and clearly embedded in the mind’s of the people.
