PERAK executive councillor Razman Zakaria has apologised for hosting a meal with a group of people, including the deputy health minister in Lenggong recently in a clear defiance of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

In his Facebook post, Razman said he’s apologising to all Malaysians¬† for the oversight and stressed that he was not above the law.

“Everyday I move around to help frontliners. Thank God, we were able to overcome shortages in medical equipment needed by health workers.

“Every night, we also deliver food to those who man roadblocks especially in Bagan Serai. For example, if we are not on the ground, we would not know the dire need for mobile toilets,” he said.

During such activities, he and his team would adhere to health protocols and if there were lapses, he hoped to overcome them.

Yesterday, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali came under heavy fire for having a meal at a Maahad Tahfiz hosted by Razman.

Razman had posted on his Facebook that they were served “kampung” dishes during the event held at the school.

The photos showed there were around 20 to 30 people who were seated on the floor having their meals.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain had said all those who allegedly had the meal together would be investigated.
