ELECTRONIC and computer repair services in Sarawak are now allowed to operate from 7am to 7pm, twice a week.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said as the Movement Control Order (MCO) enters its third phase, these businesses can operate on Wednesdays and Fridays. However, sales are not allowed.
Plumbing and electrical repairs will also be allowed. Other sectors such as agriculture, hardware stores, workshops and banking services would follow existing MCO rules.
Uggah, who is also the state disaster management committee chairman said the government is still studying whether businesses in the yellow and green zones should be allowed to resume operations.
“We will make the announcement soon after we have received the approval from Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg,” he said at a press conference here in Petra Jaya today.
As for construction sector, only those identified as critical, such as roadworks and open site maintenance, are allowed to operate twice a week, with minimum workforce.
