No new Covid-19 clusters, 261 new cases reported

SARAWAK recorded a total 261 new Covid-19 cases today while the overall number today stood at 10,710, said health director-general, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah,

This brings the total number of cases in Sarawak to 71,300 to date.

Selangor again topped the list with the highest number of infections with 4,828 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 945 and Johor with 808 cases.

There are a total 916,561 Covid-19 cases nationwide.

Other states that had recorded new cases were Negeri Sembilan with 771 new cases, Kedah (696), Sabah (666), Perak (407), Pahang (369), Penang (295), Melaka (289), Kelantan (146), Terengganu (123), Putrajaya (51), Labuan (50) and Perlis (five).

Meanwhile, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said two Covid-19 clusters in Kuching, dubbed Jalan Usaha Jaya Cluster and Jalan Tabuan Tranquility Cluster, ended after no new cases were reported for the past 28 days.

The Jalan Usaha Jaya Cluster and Jalan Tabuan Tranquility Cluster had recorded 17 and 16 positive cases respectively.

There are now 90 active Covid-19 clusters in the state with three of them reporting a collective 21 new cases.

The three clusters are Industry 121 Kuala Baram Cluster in Miri that reported two new cases, 17 from Sungai Setajam Cluster in Sarikei and two from Sentosa 2 Cluster in Kuching.

No new clusters were reported.
