No new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak, three nationwide

SARAWAK recorded zero new Covid-19 cases today, with the tally holding at 571, while nationwide three new cases were reported, bringing the total to 8,637.

The Sarawak disaster management committee said there are still 17 active cases in the state, with 20 persons under investigations reported today, while one is awaiting lab results.

The state’s Covid-19 death tally stays at 17.

Nationwide, of the three new cases, two were local transmission. One was detected following a pre-surgery screening in Selangor while another involved a worker in a market in Sandakan, Sabah, health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

He also announced that 16 patients have been discharged today, bringing the tally to 8,334 or a recovery rate of 96.5 per cent.

No new deaths were reported with the total at 121. Four patients are warded in intensive care units, with one of them needing respiratory support.
