NEWLY-appointed Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Fisol Salleh is determined to ensure Sarawak remains a peaceful state during his tenure here.

“Sarawak is the largest state and this is a new challenge for me. Even so, I will give my full commitment throughout my service here.

“I hope all parties will cooperate to ensure the state will remain peaceful,” he said in his speech during the handing-over of duties ceremony held at the state police headquarters as reported by Borneo Post.

Fisol took over from acting Deputy Police Commissioner SAC Hairuddin Che Hamid, who held the post following the transfer of Datuk Dev Kumar to Bukit Aman on Nov 4.

The ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail who in his speech expressed confidence that Fisol’s vast experience will enable him to carry out his duties and responsibilities.

“For your information, Fisol is a former commander of Pasukan Gerakan Khas Komando 69. It is not just any post. Therefore I believe with his experience, he would have no problem carrying out his duties in Sarawak,” said Aidi.

Prior to being appointed as Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner, Fisol was Internal Security and Public Order Department deputy director (Special Operations Team) in Bukit Aman.
