FIVE new Covid-19 cases were reported as of noon today, including one in Bintulu, bringing the overall national total to 8,668 cases.
Health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said three were imported cases, while two were local.
“Another 11 patients recovered and were discharged today, making it 8,476 or 97.9 per cent nationwide.
“No new deaths were recorded and the toll remains as 1.39 per cent or 121 cases,” he said.
He said there were still 71 active cases nationwide, with four patients in the ICU, two of whom are using ventilators.
In Sarawak, the one new case in Bintulu, brings the total number of cases to 572 state-wide.
Case 572 was a 22-year-old female student who returned from the United Kingdom on July 1.
She landed at KLIA on July 1 from the UK, then took a flight to Bintulu on July 3 and was quarantined.
The recovery rate for Sarawak is 95.98 per cent which is 549 patients.
