AS anxiety envelops Kuching residents over the spike in Covid-19 cases in the city, mural artist Leonard Siaw has come up with an reassuring artwork that has helped to calm their nerves.

His latest mural, on the wall of a mall in the state capital, is a fitting tribute to the frontliners battling the pandemic which has infected 649 patients and claimed 18 lives in the state.

It shows three enforcement officials in masks flanking a medical staff cradling the map of Sarawak.

“An artwork that pays a humble homage to our front line heroes who defend our homeland in this pandemic. Their selflessness, dedications and sacrifices in the battle against Covid19 are highly appreciated,” Siaw wrote on his Facebook page.

The photos have gone viral on social media, including on his Instagram here.

Many Internet users have also praised Siaw for the fitting tribute to the heroes battling the pandemic.
