THE FEDERAL government has announced a second round of Bantuan Prihatin Nasional aid for B40 and M40 families and singles.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said B40 families will receive RM1,000 while M40 families will receive RM600.
Single people in the B40 category will get RM500 while those in M40 will get RM300.
It will be given in two payments – end of October and January 2021.
The government will use its previous list of recipients for the cash handout. Those who missed out on the earlier handouts can now reapply.
RM7 billion has been allocated for BPN 2.0 which will benefit 10.6 million recipients.
In his televised speech today, Muhyiddin also announced wage subsidies for companies that were yet to recover from the Covid-19 economic fallout.
A subsidy of RM600 per employee for a maximum of 200 workers will be given for three months.
This is for companies earning 30 percent less than what they were earning last year.
Among other benefits, he said applications for the Prihatin special grant for micro traders will be reopened, with payouts expected to be made on Nov 25.
