MORE than 82,000 heads of households are yet to receive the Bantuan Khas Sayangku Sarawak (BKSS), despite being successful in their appeals.
Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong said another 40,000 single individuals were also yet to receive the aid.
She said Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg had made an announcement in his winding up speech during the recent state assembly sitting that they would receive the BKSS fund in December.
“However till today, we have not heard of any further development on the matter and there is no specific detail on the date of disbursement of the BKSS fund by the State Government,” she said in a statement.
She said the recipients were those whom the state government had left out from the earlier disbursement.
“The B40 group is the one that suffers the most due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they are in dire need of this BKSS fund from the Sarawak government.”
She hoped the state government will not make the poor keep waiting and urged it to disburse the BKSS fund as soon as possible.
Yong said the state government should keep the people updated on the matter and announce the actual date the fund will be disbursed.
