MINISTER in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri has tested positive for Covid-19.
Zulkifli also called on the public who had come into contact with him in various public events between Sept 24 and Oct 4 to undergo Covid-19 screening.
“I’m currently receiving treatment after being confirmed positive for Covid-19. I apologise for any shortcomings from myself,” Zulkifli said in a statement.
“My condition is improving. Thank you to Health Minister (Datuk Seri Adham Baba) and health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, as well as the doctors and the frontliners who are very concerned about my condition.”
He did not say where he contracted the virus although he was also in Sabah during the state election.
Meanwhile, The Malaysian Insight reported that all Cabinet members have been instructed to take a Covid-19 swab test as soon as possible, in view of Zulkifli testing positive.
