THE Kampung Seratau Covid-19 cluster in Kuching is the largest new cluster reported by the Health Ministry yesterday (Aug 6), with 392 positive cases so far, out of the 1,084 villagers tested.

The cluster is among the 34 declared by the Ministry yesterday, according to the daily updates by its Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The village has been under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) since July 17.

The EMCO there was initially supposed to end on July 30 but it was extended to Aug 13 due to a rise in cases at the village.

The cluster is one of 11 new ones that have been classified as community outbreaks.

Yesterday, Sarawak recorded 652 new cases, bringing the cumulative to 80,174.

Sarawak also recorded 53 new infections from the Kampung Jawa Kuching community cluster yesterday.
