HEALTH Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, ridiculed for saying he had recently spoken to “500 countries”, has clarified that he meant to say “500 participants”.

He told The Star that it was a slip of the tongue.

““I mistakenly said 500 countries – what I meant was 500 participants from all around the world,” Dr Adham was quoted as saying, and added that only some 50 countries took part in the conference call to discuss measures to contain Covid-19.

Dr Adham misspoke during a video conference call with Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Saturday. The clip has since gone viral and spawned memes ridiculing the Health Minister who had earlier advised the public to drink warm water to curb Covid-19, a tip that health officials said was not based on science.
