Hanifah the “wealthiest” Cabinet member from Sarawak, Henry the “poorest”

DEPUTY Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Hanifah Taib is the “wealthiest” federal Cabinet member from Sarawak, owning assets valued at between RM10 million to RM15 million.

Based on the assets declaration of Cabinet members posted on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) website, the daughter of the Sarawak Yang Di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud, draws a monthly salary of RM37,347.65.

The “poorest” Cabinet member from Sarawak is Deputy Rural Development Minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong, whose assets are less than RM1 million and draws a monthly salary of RM25,700, which is also the lowest among the 10 Ministers and Deputy Ministers from Sarawak.

Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has declared assets of between RM1 million and RM2.5 million and receives a monthly salary of RM54,736.48.

Energy and Natural Resources Deputy Minister Ali Biju draws the highest monthly salary among the state’s ministers and deputy ministers at RM58,762.89. He has assets between RM5 million and RM8.5 million.
