DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng will be charged tomorrow (Aug 7) over alleged corrupt practices involving the Penang undersea tunnel project.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said in a statement tonight that Lim, the Penang Chief Minister between 2008 and 2018 will be charged under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009 at the KL Special Corruption Court tomorrow.
On Aug 10, Lim will face separate charges related to the same project under Section 23 of the Act at the Penang Sessions Court.
Lim is also expected to face charges under Section 23 of the Act at the Penang Sessions Court on Aug 11 for another unspecified case.
Lim had earlier arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya around 9pm tonight.
The controversial RM6.3bil Penang undersea tunnel project was again probed by the anti-graft authority following fresh leads.
