GPS leaders to have online audience with Agong on Monday

ALL four component party presidents from Gabungan Party Sarawak (GPS) will have an audience with Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Monday.

The meeting will be conducted via video conferencing at 11.00am where all the GPS leaders will attend the session at the Chief Minister’s Office at Wisma Bapa in Kuching.

The CMO in a statement today confirmed that they were contacted by Istana Negara and the party heads were invited to have an audience with the King.

The four leaders – Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri James Jemut Masing, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing will attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived at Istana Negara at 7.50am today and it was learnt that it could be related to the meetings to be held between the King and top political party leaders this week.

According to The Malaysian Reserve (TMR), sources said the King will meet with leaders of political parties from both sides of Parliament. It is understood that the palace has arranged meetings that include parties that have applications pending with the Registrar of Societies.
