Five nabbed, 105 compounded for Covid-19 SOP offences in Kuching

FIVE people were arrested while another 105 customers at an entertainment outlet in Kuching were compounded for not following Covid-19 SOPs.

State Disaster Management Committee said the five arrested included the manager of the outlet, three workers and a foreign customer at the outlet in Jalan Petanak in the Padungan commercial area of the state capital.

They were nabbed during a multi-agency task force operation that included the police, soldiers, Rela, Civil Defence, local council officials and Health Department inspectors.

SDMC said about 700 personnel are carrying out inspections at supermarkets, entertainment premises, eateries, markets, government offices, public parks and places of worship.

According to The Star, police are also carrying out roadblocks in southern Sarawak to prevent the Covid-19 infections from spreading.

The roadblocks are mainly concentrated in the districts of Serian, Lundu, Bau, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
