DAP: Time for government to intensify vaccination efforts

Chong (centre) helping out in the sanitisation exercise

DAP has urged the government to step up the vaccination efforts to attain herd immunity as soon as possible.

Its Sarawak chief, Chong Chieng Jen said, mass screening also needs to be intensified to trace Covid-19 infected carriers to contain the spread.

“Recently, volunteers from DAP Kuching and Stampin helped carry out sanitisation exercises at the Batu Kawa old bazaar and the surrounding commercial areas.

“This is the second sanitisation exercise carried out by DAP Kuching and Stampin volunteer teams after the Kenyalang Park Commercial Centre. I would like to thank the selfless effort of the volunteers,” said the Stampin MP.

In fact, Chong stressed that such sanitisation exercises should be done by the government but sadly, it was not.

“Despite our constraints in resources, we will make do with whatever we have to help the people in the affected areas.

“Our focus will be on those public places where there are confirmed Covid-19 cases or clusters and upon requests by the residents,” he added.
