DAP and Amanah said they will throw their support behind Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his bid to form a new government.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said that its 42 MPs are ready to support the PKR president, provided he has the majority support.

“In line with the decision of the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council, 42 DAP MPs will support Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister if he has enough numbers to form the government,” Lim said in the short statement.

Meanwhile, Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu said all the party’s 11 MPs will support Anwar as the next PM.

He said in a statement the party has given full trust to Anwar as the PH chairman to form a new government.

“We take note of the announcement made by Anwar, chairman of Pakatan Harapan, and MP for Port Dickson who today has garnered the support of a majority of MPs to form a new government.”

Anwar had earlier today claimed that he has enough MPs to form a government, and will seek an audience with the King soon.
