Covid-19: Zero new cases in Sarawak, back to single digit nationwide

SARAWAK did not record any new Covid-19 cases today, with 12 patients in the state discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.

This brings the number of active cases in the state to 68. The total number of Covid-19 cases and death toll in Sarawak remain unchanged at 678 and 19 respectively, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in a statement today.

Kuching remains a red zone with 59 total cases including 42 locally transmitted cases within the last 14 days, with 49 classified as active cases.

Meanwhile, nine new positive cases were reported nationwide as at noon today, bringing the total to 8,985, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement.

Of the total positive cases, seven were imported cases, and two were from local transmission. They are from the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah and one patient from Selangor who had close contact with a positive case from the Bukit Tiram cluster in Johor.

The total death toll remain unchanged at 125.
