MIRI Hospital has resorted to using its social media platform, pleading for vaccinees to come for their second dose, as incomplete vaccination will not confer enough protection and prevention from being infected by Covid-19.
According to a Facebook post, the hospital said about 30% recipients of the Covid-19 immunisation programme who received their first dose of vaccine failed to turn up according to schedule for the second dose.
“Miri Hospital staff is very committed to making our vaccination programme a success. However, we are alarmed that only 70% of our vaccinees returned for the second phase.”
The hospital said many of them could not be contacted or had refused to have the second dose at the very last minute.
“We have to find a last minute replacement for their slot to avoid wastage. We really hope all the caregivers will be cooperative and bring their dependent for vaccination as scheduled.”
