Covid-19: Sarawak’s new cases drop to 570

THE Health Ministry recorded 5,150 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the nation’s total number of cases to 673,026.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were also 73 deaths, raising the death toll to 4,142.

There are now 67,949 active cases with 924 patients in the ICU and 453 on ventilators.

Selangor had the most infections with 1,914 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (607), Sarawak (570), Kuala Lumpur (480), Johor (392), Kelantan (230), Kedah (228), Sabah (184), Malacca (152), Labuan (101), Penang (99), Perak (66), Pahang (57), Terengganu (56), Perlis (8) and Putrajaya (6).

Sarawak’s total number of cases now stands at 57,475.

Kuching had the most cases with 98 cases followed by Mukah (92), Sibu (82), Bintulu (46), Song (31), Sri Aman (31), Miri (25), Sarikei (23), Pakan (23), Serian (23), Matu (21), Kapit (16), Bau (15), Tatau (10), Lundu (7), Telang Usan (4), Tanjung Manis (3), Kanowit (3), Marudi (3), Bukit Mabong (3), Selangau (3), Tebedu (2), Beluru (2), Julau (1), Meradong (1), Asajaya (1) and Samarahan (1).

There were also six deaths in the state, raising the death toll to 364.

Health authorities also declared three new clusters in Sarawak.

They are a funeral-linked cluster in Sri Aman, dubbed the Gran Stumbin Cluster, and the other two are in Bintulu – Jalan Tanjung Kidurong 3 Cluster and Jalan Bintulu – Tatau Cluster.
