Covid-19: Sarawak’s new cases jump to 644

MALAYSIA recorded 13,034 new Covid-19 cases and 134 deaths today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the total number of infections to 964,918.

There are 142,051 active cases with 938 patients in the ICU and 459 on ventilators.

The death toll stands at 7,574.

Selangor recorded the most cases with 6,049 while Sarawak saw jump in cases to 644 infections, bringing its total number of cases to 72,857.

Kuala Lumpur had 1,611 cases, Johor (791), Negeri Sembilan (711), Kedah (701), Sabah (497), Terengganu (391), Penang (371), Malacca (353), Perak (284), Pahang (261), Kelantan (240), Putrajaya (100), Labuan (24) and Perlis (six).

Kuching had 258 cases today while Saratok had 131 cases and Miri had 126 cases.

There were no fatalities reported today and Sarawak’s death toll remains at 450.

Two new clusters were declared in Sarawak, both in Saratok – the Ulu Senulau Cluster and the Abu Bengang Cluster.

They involve longhouses which are under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

There are 33 cases in the Ulu Senulau Cluster and 131 in the Abu Bengang Cluster.
