Covid-19: Sarawak records 707 cases

MALAYSIA has recorded 5,566 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the nation’s total to 627,652 cases.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 76 deaths today and the death toll now stands at 3,536.

There are 82,797 active cases with 903 patients in the ICU and 458 on ventilators.

Selangor had the most infections with 1,524 cases, followed by Sarawak with 707 cases, bringing the state’s total to 52,581.

Negeri Sembilan had 505 cases, Kuala Lumpur (466) , Johor (456), Sabah (350), Malacca (314), Perak (225), Kelantan (204), Labuan (191), Penang (185), Pahang (157), Kedah (148), Putrajaya (27) and Perlis (1).

Meanwhile in Sarawak, Kuching had the most cases with 247 infections followed by Bintulu (88), Sri Aman (53), Miri (46), Song (43), Subis (40), Kapit (32), Mukah (25), Samarahan (24), Sibu (21), Beluru (17), Bau (12), and Marudi (10).

Asajaya had 9 cases, Selangau (8), Tatau (6), Tanjung Manis (5), Betong (4), Belaga (3), Kabong (3), Sarikei (2), Lubok Antu (2), Serian (2) while Bukit Mabong, Kanowit, Pusa, Tebedu and Telang Usan had one case each.

Only 39 cases showed symptoms during screenings.

SDMC said there was one death in Lubok Antu today bringing the death toll to 327.

One new cluster was declared today in Belaru – the Ulu Teru Cluster, which has 46 cases so far.
