Covid-19: Sarawak records 589 cases today with four new clusters

MALAYSIA recorded 17,236 new Covid-19 cases and 212 deaths over the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections is now 1,279,776.

There are now 227,230 active cases, with 1,095 patients in the ICU and 579 on ventilators.

The number of fatalities now stands at 10,961.

Selangor had the most cases with 5,740, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,567), Kedah (1,328), Sabah (1,247), Johor (1,232) and Negeri Sembilan (1,215).

Perak had 935 cases, Kelantan (914), Penang (908), Pahang (604), Sarawak (589), Terengganu (501), Malacca (360), Putrajaya (66), Perlis (22) and Labuan (8).

Sarawak’s cases now stands at 81,917 while three more deaths today raises the death toll to 471.
