Covid-19: Sarawak records 577 cases, four new clusters

MALAYSIA reported 5,244 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with most of them in the Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections is now 711,006.

There are 60,816 active cases with 879 patients in the ICU and 433 on ventilators.

There were 83 deaths today, bringing the total number of fatalities to 4,637.

Selangor continues to record the highest number of cases with 2,001 infections, followed by Negeri Sembilan (677), Sarawak (577), Kuala Lumpur (531), Johor (282), Pahang (245), Kedah (189), Malacca (180), Penang (159), Sabah (129), Kelantan (81), Labuan (77), Perak (75), Terengganu (27), Putrajaya (13) and Perlis (1).

Meanwhile in Sarawak, there were three more deaths, bringing the death toll to 392 while the total number of cases is 61,566.

There were four new community clusters in the state – the Nanga Tada Cluster in Kanowit (107 cases); the Sungai Kotak Cluster in Meradong (34 cases); the Jalan Kuala Tatau Cluster in Tatau (22 cases); and the Tanjong Lelengau Cluster in Pakan (52 cases).
