Covid-19: Sarawak records 450 cases and nine new clusters today

MALAYSIA reported 16,840 new Covid-19 cases and 134 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections is now 1,095,486.

There are 183,706 active cases with a record 1,055 patients in the ICU and 532 on ventilators.

Selangor had the most infections with 6,092 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,114), Kedah (1,281), Johor (1,104), Negeri Sembilan (1,079), Sabah (1,066), Perak (810), Penang (689), Kelantan (656), Malacca (581), Pahang (540), Sarawak (450), Terengganu (258), Putrajaya (100), Perlis (13) and Labuan (7).

Meanwhile in Sarawak, Kuching had the most cases at 191, followed by Samarahan (50), Serian (36), Bintulu (27), Simunjan (26), Saratok (25), Sibu (20), Asajaya (17), and Tatau (13).

Miri and Lundu had nine cases each, Kabong (6), Bau (5), three each in Kapit and Tebedu, Julau (2) and one case each in Sarikei, Meradong, Betong, lawas, Daro, Belaga, Subis and Pakan.

While there were no deaths today, Sarawak declared nine new Covid-19 clusters.

The nine clusters are Tanjung Tuang Cluster in Samarahan (84), Melikin Cluster in Serian (46), the Kinda KM18 Cluster in Tatau (10), the Bunga Rampai Cluster in Bau (35), the Kampung Paon Rimu Cluster in Serian (21), the Kampung Sungai Duuh Cluster in Serian (28), the Peligong Cluster in Saratok (27), the Kerina Cluster in Serian (15) and the Sungai Sangan Cluster in Tatau (7).
