Covid-19: Sarawak records 235 new cases, total now over 69,000

MALAYSIA recorded a drop in the number of new cases, with 8,574 Covid-19 cases reported in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 844,870, with 91,272 active cases.

There are 964 patients in the ICU, with 452 on ventilators.

There were 102 deaths today, bringing the number of fatalities to 6,260.

Selangor had the most cases with 4,308 infections, followed by

Negeri Sembilan (794), Kuala Lumpur (609), Kedah (415), Malacca (411), Johor (407), Pahang (314), Sabah (298), Sarawak (235), Penang (231), Perak (168), Terengganu (140), Kelantan (133), Labuan (66) and Putrajaya (45).

There were no new cases in Perlis.

Sarawak’s total number of cases is now 69,104 while the death toll is 433, with one more death today.

One new cluster was declared today – the Kampung Kendaie cluster in Lundu.

The cluster that started from a funeral in the village has 23 cases so far.
