Covid-19: Sarawak records 1,667 cases today

MALAYSIA reported 22,642 new Covid-19 cases and 265 deaths over the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,616,244 while the death toll stands at 14,818.

Selangor had the most cases with 6,325, followed by Sabah (3,224), Kedah (2,279), Johor (1,832), Sarawak (1,667), Penang (1,427), Kelantan (1,424), Perak (1,390), Kuala Lumpur (1,128), Terengganu (744), Pahang (522), Malacca (342), Negeri Sembilan (269), Perlis (44), Putrajaya (21) and Labuan (4).

Sarawak had five deaths, including a 99-year-old woman, and the death toll stands at 508.

SDMC said 99.88% of the 1,667 cases today were those under Category One with no symptoms and Category Two with mild symptoms.

Kuching had the most cases at 620 infections, followed by Samarahan (151), Bau (139), Sibu (125), Lundu (118), Serian (71), Pusa (61), Bintulu (53), Belaga (53), Mukah (44), Selangau (38), Song (33), Simunjan (26), Sri Aman (25), Subis (21), Miri (16), Kapit (16), Tatau (16) and Tebedu (11).

Asajaya had eight cases, Beluru (5), Sarikei (3), Sebauh (3), Betong (2), Matu (2), Kanowit (2), Telang Usan (2), and one each in Lawas, Limbang and Saratok.

The state’s total cases stands at 103,048.

Sarawak also declared one new cluster today – the Opar Cluster in Bau, with 66 cases so far.
