Covid-19: Sarawak cases down by 50%

THE number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak dropped by almost half today after recording a record high number of cases yesterday.

The health ministry said there are 835 cases in Sarawak, compared to 1,566 cases yesterday.

Nationwide, there are 19,631 new Covid-19 cases and it brings the total number of infections to 1,444,270.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 5,753.

This was followed by Sabah (2,103), Kedah (1,863), Kuala Lumpur (1,765), Johor (1,309), Kelantan (1,268), Penang (1,275) and Perak (1,101).

Pahang had 670 cases, Malacca (623), Terengganu (498), Negeri Sembilan (490), Putrajaya (41) and Perlis (37).
