Covid-19 patient nabbed after escaping from Miri Hospital

A MAN who escaped from Miri Hospital at 3pm yesterday, after testing positive for Covid-19 has been nabbed by the police.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari said the patient was a 33-year-old man and he was picked up from his house in Batu Niah on the same day.

“The suspect has been referred to Miri Hospital for further treatment after his Covid-19 test at a private hospital came back positive. He then went to the Miri Hospital but escaped around 3pm,” he told Borneo Post.

“He was arrested at his house in Batu Niah last night (Jan 25) and had been sent to Miri Hospital for further treatment,” said Hakemal.

He added that the police will open an investigation paper on the patient once he completes his treatment.
