Covid-19: Over 6,000 new infections nationwide as cases in Sarawak drop to 361

A TOTAL of 6,658 new Covid-19 infections were reported nationwide over the past 24 hours from noon today, with Sarawak recording 361 cases.

The Health Ministry in a Twitter post said this brings the cumulative number of positive cases in the country to 772,607.

Selangor recorded 3,047 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (699), Kuala Lumpur (616 ), Johor (414) , Sarawak (361), Malacca (345), Sabah (322), Pahang (200), Kedah (145), Penang (142), Labuan (108), and Perak (101).

Kelantan recorded 89 cases, Terengganu at 51 and Putrajaya with 16 cases.

Only Perlis recorded single digit with two new Covid-19 cases.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily updates said that Kuching reported the number of cases at 77, while one fatality reported in Kapit.

This brings Sarawak’s cumulative number of cases to 66,196 and the death toll to 418.

The death was involved a 62-year-old woman, who tested positive on June 22 and later passed away at the Kapit Hospital. The patient was suffering from hypertension and dyslipidemia.
