Covid-19: New cases remain in the double digits, zero from Sarawak

THE Health Ministry recorded 15 new Covid-19 cases today, 10 of which are from local transmission, with the cumulative cases now at 9,038.

The Sivagangga cluster in Kedah accounted for six of the 10 local transmission cases. Five of the six are from the same family. The remaining patient is a close contact of another confirmed case.

The rest of the new cases are from Negri Sembilan (two), Labuan and Kuala Lumpur (one each), Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement today.

A total of 11 patients were discharged today, with the cumulative cases now at 8,713. There is no increase in death, with total remaining at 125.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the state recorded no new cases today, with the total remaining at 678 cases.  Four patients had also been discharged with the total now at 621 cases or 91.59 per cent.

There are 38 active cases in the state.
