Covid-19: Four new deaths, two new clusters in Sarawak

SARAWAK recorded four new Covid-19 deaths and 513 new cases today.

This brings the total number of deaths in the state to 284 and cases to 46,675.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), two of the deaths were at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching and one each in Sibu and Bintulu.

Two new clusters were declared – the Gerigat Cluster in Kabong and Sungai Parik Cluster in Sri Aman.

Meanwhile, nationally, the health ministry recorded 6,999 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the daily new cases took the cumulative number of coronavirus infections in the country to 565,533.

He said Selangor continued to record the highest number of cases at 2,477, followed by Kuala Lumpur (616) and Kelantan (612).

“Sarawak logged 513 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (468), Johor (433), Kedah (422), Penang (248), Pahang (239), Terengganu (214), Perak (212), Melaka (202), Sabah (190), Labuan (133), Putrajaya (13) and Perlis (seven),” he shared on social media today.
